Info From the Vine- Crowdfunding Makes People Feel Good (With Little Effort).

Who doesn’t want to be part of something fun, meaningful and successful? That’s the rationale behind crowdfunding - the online process of collecting funds for causes, projects, non profit... or anything!

Generally speaking, most human beings are pretty decent folks and care a lot about what happens in their community and the world. Just give them a little “kick” to motivate them to help kick-start some benevolent or important cause and they’ll participate. One of the oldest and most successful crowdfunding sites on the web supports this ideal to the degree of calling themselves “Kickstarter.com”.

Kickstarter is a global funding platform that has raised over $1 billion since it's launch in April of 2009, with over 135,000 projects and over 5 million donors. Time Magazine named it "one of the best inventions of 2010". The impact of Kickstarter has been felt in many different segments of society since it raised $10 million to create itself.

Crowdfunding sites encourage the “crowd” as well as voices from the campaign to leave comments, provide encouragement and be an active part of the campaign.
